1. Because we have too much of it. Headache? Have some chai. Sardi hogayi? Beta, chai pe le. Too much work? Tea break. Stressed? Chai Time. Bored? Let’s have some tea. 2. We eat chai. Chai is accompanied with pakoda, samosa, kurkure, biscuits & a lot of other unhealthy food items that are making us fat. 3. Sugar One cup of chai has close to 40–50 Kcal. 3 cups = 150 Kcal & it takes a lot of workout to burn 150 Kcal. (And we didn’t include the samosa calories yet) Chai (like every other food), is being consumed beyond moderation and that’s what’s making it unhealthy. Just when a voice of reason inside our head says no to that extra cup of chai, another voice, supported by random articles over the internet that label chai as ‘healthy’ softens it down and ultimately you lose and that extra cup of chai, wins.
